OVERVIEW:

The Lead Economist (SME) provides support with analysis with evaluation and analytical support related to economic security, market viability, and Semiconductor Industry Analysis.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Providing expertise and analytical support of semiconductor supply and demand forecasting by major semiconductor technologies, semiconductor types, nodes, end-use, and country/region relevant to projects
  • Providing expertise and analytical support assessments of semiconductor technical capability and production capacity gaps, and supply resiliency risks among different geographies, particularly the United States
  • Providing expertise and analytical support on assessing and forecasting industry-wide and company-level supply and demand dynamics of leading-edge semiconductor design and production, including advanced packaging
  • Providing expertise and analytical support on assessing and forecasting industry-wide and company-level supply and demand dynamics in mature-node logic, analog, discrete, compound, and other semiconductor products
  • Providing expertise and analytical support related to the dynamics of fabless design and  foundry relationships, including customer requirements
  • Providing expertise and analytical support related to dynamics of broader industry customer trends, including cost sensitivities and product requirements
  • Providing expertise and analytical support related to upstream supply chain dependencies (including material and equipment), as well as industry wide and company level dynamics of different parts of the supply chain
  • Providing expertise and analytical support related to the dynamics of semiconductor research and development, process node development, and commercialization
  • Providing expertise and analytical support related to evaluating projections of firm and fab-level wafer pricing expectations, supply and demand analysis, customer behavior, and related sensitivity analysis
  • Providing expertise and analytical support related to evaluating cost differentials of constructing and operating semiconductor production facilities across different geographies
  • Providing expertise and analytical support related to economic modeling, forecasting and impact analysis related to: semiconductor production investments, related labor and workforce analysis; related end-use downstream markets, regional/national/international economic parameters.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum/General Experience 10 years of experience forecasting and modeling regional, national, and international economic impact analysis
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university

CLEARANCE:

  • US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
