OVERVIEW:

In this role, you will lead the charge in migrating legacy systems to cloud-compatible environments, solving complex problems associated with outdated code and enabling the seamless integration of disparate programs. Your expertise in all stages of software development, coupled with your understanding of Intelligence Community and Department of Defense analyst's needs, will be instrumental in developing applications that directly impact national security.

The Full Stack Developer will work as part of a small agile software development team to design and rapidly prototype scalable solutions. The candidate must be self-starting, able to work well within a team environment and motivated to deliver innovative capabilities that directly impact national security. GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Compile, run and verify various scientific tool suites that do gravity modeling and trajectory calculations by extensive use of makefiles and Linux scripts
  • Establish a source code repository for verified code, and enable configuration control using GITLAB
  • Modernize/Optimize source code from a variety of legacy equipment and operation system environments into HPC cloud hosted operating system environments
  • Identify and replace outdated/ non compatible support library modules as appropriate to the  programming language  
  • Use Shell scripting and other automation techniques to speed routine, repetitive tasks  
  • Interact with geodetic and geophysical analyst Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to obtain requirements
  • Respond to and mitigate/remediate validation and verification findings made by the customer  
  • Use Jira to track stories and document progress  
  • Establish scripts and pipelines to automate testing, provisioning and operations via Linux bash, Python  
  • Establish provisioning solutions using Pivotal Cloud Foundary (PCF), Pivotal Container Service (PKS), and Amazon Web Services provisioning/ container services as appropriate

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, applied mathematics, geophysics, geodesy or related field
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Core Technologies:
  • Linux & Bash Scripting
  • Fortran, Python
  • Gitlab (browser and command line)
  • AWS Cloud Environment and Services (GovCloud, EC2, S3, IAM)
  • Jira, Confluence

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Linux/Windows operating systems
  • Optimization/Parallelization of Fortran code in HPC environment
  • SAFe Agile and Scrum methodology
  • DevOps familiarity with emphasis on Gitlab
