OVERVIEW:
We are seeking for a talented Software Engineer that is passionate about technology and the mission of our customers to join our team! This individual will work as an integral part of a software development team translating real-world needs into technical solutions. The ideal candidate is a software engineer passionate about helping to drive our customers’ and company missions forward. The candidate must be self-motivated, a quick learner, and able to balance simultaneous tasks to keep pace with our team of high performers.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Develop and modify applications, software, services, utilities, interfaces, and systems that support geospatial systems and analysts.
- Applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
- Engineer, maintain, and fully support capabilities that enable statistical analysis, reporting, data ingest, data mining, multi-source decision analysis tools, information correlation, and visualization capability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3+ years of related Front End Development
- Experience with the following languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, Java
- Experience with the following frameworks/libraries: React/Angular, Knockout.js, Leaflet, D3 or other visualization libraries, Java Servlets
- Experience in integrating with external public or private data feeds via web services (OGC WMS/WFS, GeoRSS, GeoJSON, etc)
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments
- Has a sound understanding of industry practices, techniques, and standards, and perform the following functions under general direction from supervision
- Ability and hunger to learn and implement new technologies
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with back-end development, particularly with Spring Boot
- Experience with databases including PostgreSQL, and spatial database extensions such as PostGIS
- Experience in testing front and back end applications (unit testing, integration testing)
- Docker & Docker Compose/Kubernetes experience desired (not required)
