The Journeyman Full Stack Developer is responsible for developing and testing software, writing web applications, developing production applications, and is expected to utilize their required experience and skills to ensure compliance with HSI standards.
Employ software development techniques and methodologies for solving tough analytical challenges in support of one of our nation's premier law enforcement entities
Use software development skills to automate manual analytical processes
Opportunity to expand upon beyond specializations to include front end user interfaces, back end microservices, web services, cloud architectures, as well as databases and other persistent data stores
Provide technical expertise to support migration of applications and data sets to the cloud
Deploy developed IT solutions, user applications, databases and other IT capabilities
Design and develop specialized user solutions, applications and databases using a hybrid Agile approach within a DevOps environment
Maintain code integrity and organization
Collaborate with the rest of engineering team to design and launch new features
Keen interest in learning and using the latest software tools, methods, and technologies to solve real world problem sets vital to national security
Primary location is Crystal City, VA with periodic visits to client sites in the DC Area
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Have the ability to work embedded with a HSI Field Office and HSI Headquarters Components. This includes having the ability to operate as a member of a team in an often-high stress high tempo office environment.
Possess a minimum of 2 years of professional experience developing and testing software.
Possess a minimum of 1 year of web-development experience including experience writing web applications using HMTL5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience developing production applications using at least one of the following server-side computer languages: o Java – SpringBoot
Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience designing medium to large enterprise systems.
Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience developing applications leveraging big data technologies including at least one of the following: o Elastic Search o Cassandra o Janus Graph
Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience leveraging CI/CD tools such as: o Jenkins o SonarQube
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Business with 4+ years’ experience
Desired hands-on experience with:
Direct Experience with DHS or Law Enforcement data architectures and environments
One or more of the following certifications: AWS Certified Solution Architect or Software Developer
Experience with DevOps environments
Expertise in various COTS, GOTS, and open source tools which support development of data integration and visualization applications
CLEARANCE:
Active TS Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance
