1429- Operations Lead of Cloud Services

OVERVIEW
Lead a small team (4-5) providing engineering and Cloud Services support to include Systems Engineering, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Cloud Support for NASIC’s enterprise.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Implement, operate, maintain, and enhance an on-premises Infrastructure as a Service Offering meeting local service levels according to NIST SP 800-145
  • Operate, maintaining, and enhance a self-service portal, automation tools, reporting tools and dashboards; reporting system capacity to system owners
  • Create and maintain system and application blueprints for new portal offerings
  • Provision, operate, and maintain systems and environments in a Hybrid Cloud environment to include Private Clouds such as the on-premises VMware environment and the Public and Community Clouds to include the IC Commercial Cloud Service, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud and other cloud providers approved for Government use
  • Operate and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and monitoring services enabling high availability of on-premises and cloud systems and applications
  • Migrate legacy systems and applications to cloud implementations (both on-premises and off- premises)
  • Operating and maintain a Platform as a Service Offering meeting local service levels according to NIST SP 800-145 both on-premises and off-premises
  • Manage performance and capacity for application containers running on a Kubernetes-based platform (VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid)
  • Operate and maintain a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery application pipeline enabling a continuous approval to operate for application delivery and release
  • Provision, operate, and maintain systems and environments in a Hybrid Cloud environment to include Private Clouds such as the on-premises DC/OS/VMware environment and the Public and Community Clouds to include the IC Commercial Cloud Service, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud and other cloud providers approved for Government use
  • Operate and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and monitoring services enabling high availability of on-premises and cloud systems and applications
  • Sustainment and availability of PaaS systems utilizing VMware Tanzu
  • Utilize government provided documentation and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and Microsoft System Center Service Manger
  • Proficient in creating, maintaining and enhancing programming/scripting languages including Python, C, C++, C#, Bash, Perl, Go, Java and R


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7 years of experience
  • Possess and maintain IA Workforce System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level II (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) certification as required by Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 17-1303, Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8140.01, and DoD 8570.01- M.
  • Provision, operate, and maintain systems and environments in a Hybrid Cloud environment to include Private Clouds such as the on-premises VMware environment and the Public and Community Clouds to include the IC Commercial Cloud Service, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud and other cloud providers approved for Government use 3.1.1
  • VMware – Data Center Virtualization, Network Virtualization, and or Cloud Management and Automation 3.2.2
  • Amazon Web Services certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator 3.2.2 on- premises VMware software and infrastructure. 3.3.3
  • Maintain and operate an External vCenter environment 3.3.3
  • Maintain a vRealize Automation self-service portal 3.3.3
  • Maintain and operate virtualization hardware configurations and firmware to include Dell servers, VxRail servers, vSAN, nvidia GPUs, and other associated equipment. 3.3.3
  • Maintain and sustain vRealize Operations 3.3.3
  • Implement vSphere and OS-level change, configuration, patch management, hardening, and regulatory compliance 3.3.3
  • Support and troubleshoot scripts written in Microsoft Powershell, Python, bash, and/or perl. Use automation tools like vRealize Automation, Ansible, puppet, and/or chef.
  • Use software defined techniques and integration with RESTful API’s. Utilize the CI/CD pipeline and Platform processes and tools to test and approve all scripts including using the approved coding repository (e.g. GitHub, Jenkins, Subversion) 3.3.3
