GENERAL DUTIES OVERVIEW

  • Analyze and develop telecommunications networks supporting a wide range of capabilities, including voice, data video and/or wireless services to ensure that the customer's program networks are properly installed, configured and maintained.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with SDN/LAN/WAN related technolgies
  • Research new and emerging technologies and make recommendations and justifications for insertion of the technologies into the current framework.
  • Design, create and manage virtualized systems and architectures
  • Design and implement updates to network topology.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent troubleshooting with desire to grow and share knowledge
  • Excellent collaboration skills with technical and non-technical users
  • Strong background in secure communication methods such as VPN, hardware encryption devices
  • Can implement and troubleshoot systems and protocols such as  EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, NHRP, VRF, IPSEC, Spanning-Tree, LISP, Performance Routing, Multicast, VSP, MACsec, VRRP, QoS, Policing/Shaping, Dual-Stack IPV4/IPV6 and VRF.
  • Proficiency in one of more of the following: scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Salt  etc.
  • Detailed understanding of OSI and TCP stack with emphasis on computer architecture and networking protocols, and troubleshooting with Wireshark.
  • Ability to articulate deeply technical concepts to recipients of a wide range of technical competency.
  • Ability to effectively vocalize and defend the decision behind each configuration item selected during an implementation or design process with an understanding of the impact to include those options not selected
  • Ability to collect requirements and execute an implementation to fulfill those requirements.
  • Ability to create and update As-Built documents and troubleshooting guides.
  • Excellent customer service skills with ability to interact well with government and contracting staff; and be able to work independently on tasks.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and network diagramming software such as Visio.
  • Generally knowledgeable in the area of active directory having the ability to perform administrative tasks under the direction of an expert.
  • Generally knowledgeable in the areas of security/firewalls and active directory having the ability to include basic troubleshooting.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field
  • Certifications including Cisco CCNP, CCNA.
  • High comfort level with Linux
  • Proficiency in the installation and configuration of desktop operating systems.
  • 5 Years of increasingly complex experience in Networking role.
  • SD WAN, RouterOS, Suite-B Implementation, MPLS, RTP/RTSP or VoIP Optimization, 4G LTE architecture and call/session flows, virtual routers and switches, enterprise management of non-Cisco routers/switches
