OVERVIEW

As a Cyber Operations Consultant, you will provide financial institution customers with support related to the threat and vulnerability management of their critical systems, applications, and infrastructure. You will work with customers to manage their vulnerability inventory, ensure comprehensive coverage of scanning activities across both on-premise and cloud environments, and advise on current security threats impacting the financial services industry. You will work directly with customer teams responsible for vulnerability testing and scanning, and performing asset discovery techniques for the identification, assessment, and validation of the security vulnerabilities of complex information systems. You will work alongside industry leaders to gain insight and experience as the practice continues to expand.

GENERAL DUTIES OVERVIEW

  • Evaluate, prioritize, remediate, and track to closure vulnerabilities identified through multiple techniques including vulnerability scanning, threat intelligence gathering, penetration testing, and vendor notifications
  • Analyze the vulnerability inventory to identify challenges within the vulnerability management process to reduce customers’ inventory of open vulnerabilities
  • Develop dashboards to communicate vulnerability remediation progress and ensure the accurate and timely release of vulnerability metrics to support governance committee reporting requirements
  • Perform vulnerability research and analysis on systems and applications related to the financial services industry
  • Identify common cyber tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) exploited in cyber-attacks and create playbooks that identify vulnerabilities align with these factors

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience with vulnerability management and cyber security operations
  • Prior experience with leading vulnerability management platforms including Qualys, Rapid7, or Tenable
  • Knowledge of general cyber security concepts including threat intelligence, penetration testing, security logging and monitoring, and incident response
  • Experience with planning and executing comprehensive vulnerability scanning and assessments
  • Knowledge of risk analysis and vulnerability remediation plan development
  • Experience correlating threat intelligence, vulnerability risk scores, and asset criticality ratings to identify risk exposure that could potentially result in cyber-attacks
  • Experience creating dashboards related to vulnerability management that focus on vulnerability remediation progress and report on risk metrics
  • Experience with vulnerability assessments, web application testing, database testing, and network assessments
  • Strong deductive reasoning, critical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to write high-quality intelligence assessments and briefings for a senior-level audience
  • Knowledge of the National Vulnerability Database (NVD) and Common Vulnerability Enumeration
  • Knowledge of NIST Security Controls and Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) practices
  • Credentials in cyber and/or privacy are a plus, but are not required
