2809 - Linux Systems Administrator

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • The Linux Systems Administrator support infrastructure and applications, as part of a 5 days x12 hour/day secure mission system operations.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and report on infrastructure, data feeds, and application availability and system performance.
  • Perform infrastructure and application operations and maintenance support.
  • Troubleshoot server virtualization issues.
  • Develop and maintaining installation and configuration procedures for new server builds and STIGs.
  • Develop custom scripts to automate systems administration.
  • Support change requests and problem tickets.
  • Ensuring proper planning and execution of major projects/maintenance activities.
  • Documenting standard operating procedures, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting tips.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or 4 years of additional relevant experience)
  • Certification: Requires 8570 compliance (IAT Level 2) such as CompTIA Security +
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on Linux experience and expertise working on classified systems in both:
  • CentOS/RHEL Linux Systems Administration or Systems Engineering
  • Scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Perl) Experience with developing, securing and delivering hardware and software updates and enhancements through testing, security assessment and authorization, and production readiness reviews.
  • Must demonstrate strong teamwork, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong initiative to accept new technical challenges in complex system engineering assignments.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification and/or Experience with AWS cloud
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification(s)
  • DoD or Intelligence Community service.
  • Experience and relationships with DIA.
  • Hands-on Experience with VDI hosting and virtualization with VMWare and/or Nutanix
  • Experience supporting NiFi data flows
  • Experience supporting Apache Tomcat webservices
  • Experience installing, managing, and updating applications and services hosted on Linux servers.
  • Experience working with cross-domain solutions

CLEARANCE:

  • Top Secret minimum
