OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Systems Engineer - Windows (TS), with an emphasis in Windows and Linux based systems to support team operations in Quantico, VA. The is a full-time on-site opening.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Providing enterprise virtualized environment (VMWare) support by providing high-end engineering skills to support Windows/Linux Servers and MacOS in operational environments
- Supplying inputs to key project decisions with regard to success criteria for system requirements, design, testing methods, and delivery activities
- Providing advice, technical consultation, and senior level guidance by analyzing and resolving problems and evaluating alternative means of satisfying user requirements
- Actively communicating with key program stakeholders regarding status of activities and potential recommendations for improvement regarding the system design, function and supporting O&M processes
- Problem solving and troubleshooting issues within deployed systems
- Serving as key point of contact with regard to developing, recommending improvements, implementing and maintaining Windows Active Directory and Group Policy
- Deploying/managing VDI infrastructure
- CI/CD Pipeline application support and interaction with DevOps administrators
- Patching, applying STIGs and remediating security vulnerabilities on Windows and LInux servers and MacOS
- Remediating vCenter and ESXi
- Planning, designing, developing, documenting and recommending enhancements and modifications to existing systems as well as any new system capability scheduled for development
- Supporting management activities to include patch management and backups across deployed systems
- Working with other team members to proactively diagnose and resolve complex problems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 4 years of directly related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- 8+ years’ related experience
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server operating systems in addition to virtualization technologies such as VMware
- Hands-on Windows engineering: designing, building and troubleshooting experience
- Experience applying and working with Windows Group Policy Objectives (GPOs)
- Experience with various security tools, such as Nessus, OSSEC, etc
- Experience working with Windows Domain structures
- Experience with basic Linux Administration
- Systems integration and troubleshooting experience
- Build and configuration management experience to include Patch Management experience
- Creative problem solving
- Ability to remain on task, be self-motivated, and be a strong communicator
CLEARANCE:
- Top Secret minimum with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
