OVERVIEW:

The successful candidate will have great attention to detail, be capable of operating in a fast pace operational environment and be capable of clear, concise communication of complex financial, schedule and task-based data.  Familiarity with the development and implementation of workflow activities

The Operations Manager supports the Program Director by leading the Program Office Operations staff.  You will be responsible for ensuring contract deliverables are submitted accurately and on-time.  You will monitor contract procurement and budget actions to make sure they stay within contract service level agreement parameters.  

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Enhancing the operational procedures, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looking for opportunities to improve systems
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, selection and hiring; training new and existing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; addressing employee performance and corrective action plans; employee motivation and rewards. Organizing the program budget in collaboration with the Program Director.
  • Overseeing procurement activities and identifying risks to meeting service level agreements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS and 12+ years of professional experience in a related discipline, or MS and 10+ years, or PhD and 9+ years
  • Demonstrated program management and management of complex projects
  • Expert understanding of financial program performance, including rate calculations, variance reporting, forecasting, and estimate to complete.
  • Experience leading business operations processes, including some combination of: financial and procurement management, human resources and strategic planning
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in online collaboration tools and project management software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Project, SharePoint
  • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, exceptional professional attitude, and collaborative management style
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a hybrid on-site/remote work team

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing business operations in the intelligence community
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
