OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a mid-level Financial Analyst to assist in financial analysis and planning in support of our corporate initiatives. The Financial Analyst will be part of the Corporate Operations team. This position requires a working knowledge of Government Contracting and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) experience. The Financial Analysts will need to complete assignments of moderate complexity on time within a fast-paced environment and the ability to learn new processes and tools.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Performing routine and ad hoc analysis in support of various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, and forecasting.
- Collecting and reviewing financial data from various sources.
- Creating, maintaining, and updating financial databases and spreadsheets, and generating various financial reports as required.
- Performing analysis of programs to include projected hours, contract totals, revenues, and profit.
- Supporting managers in managing, tracking, monitoring, and reporting financial data as requested.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as other government regulations.
- Create and analyze monthly, quarterly project/company performance, and reports.
- Support month and quarter-end close activities including variance analysis.
- Prepare forecasts and analyses of trends in finance, general business conditions, and other related areas.
- Generate cost/price models, including both bid and execution scenarios.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting
- 5+ years of experience with emphasis on providing financial analysis, financial tracking, and financial reporting
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills
- Understanding of various contract types, including CPAF, CPFF, CPFF-LOE, FP-LOE, FFP and T&M.
- Experience briefing senior leadership team on financial analysis.
