OVERVIEW:

The Advanced Electrical Engineer (Project Engineer) provides technical facilities electrical engineering expertise to the Missile Defense Agency at Fort Greely AK. The candidate is required to assess electrical technical/engineering issues, aid in evaluating technical alternatives, and support electrical planning, design, and execution of new construction, renovation, and equipment upgrade projects. Previous electrical facility project engineering experience is a prerequisite for this position.

GENERAL DUTIES:

Support the Government Project Manager to plan, program, design, execute, and document electrical Military Construction (MILCON) and sustainment, The candidate must display the following abilities and experience on Facility projects:

  • Develop electrical project scopes of work
  • Provide electrical construction surveillance
  • Prepare project briefings in Microsoft PowerPoint and information papers in Microsoft Word
  • Draft, review, and contribute to technical reports and documentation
  • Obtain, analyze, distribute, and archive technical and contractual information
  • Draft, review, and process electrical change proposals
  • Participate in decision-making meetings with project stakeholders
  • Must possess working knowledge of USACE/NAVFAC/DPW construction project execution
  • Provide expert reviews of construction project documentation, shop drawings, RFls, and submittal reviews
  • Support Project planning and design scoping
  • Support design sessions/planning charrettes
  • Support Facility electrical assessments
  • Advanced knowledge of facility electrical operations, master planning, as well as environmental issues, and related impacts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred)
  • 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Broad general facility electrical engineering background
  • Demonstrated project electrical engineering experience in support of scheduling, planning, programming, design, construction, operations, environmental, and start-up aspects of facility/infrastructure related projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
