The GEOINT Repository for Needs (GRFN) Program, currently entering its second year of a 5-year contract with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), provides critical capabilities to help enable efficient and timely GEOINT collection management across multiple collection providers. The GEOINT Information Management Services (GIMS) system operates on multiple security levels and combines FOSS/COTS software/hardware with a custom-built application to meet critical mission objectives. The program is structured utilizing DevSecOps and Agile principles. These software development methodologies emphasize communication, collaboration (information sharing and web service usage), integration, automation, and measurement of cooperation between software developers and other IT professionals. Operational stability is the program’s number one priority.


The selected individual will be responsible to support the Framework Services / Platform and Security scrum team, performing operations / maintenance of program Window systems software and associated applications. Team members must be able to install, configure, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve problems with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Windows 2012 Server, and Active Directory and other Windows based applications. Team members must have a strong knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, networking technologies, and server-based software applications.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Duties include setting up accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance and interaction with vendors to evaluate vendor products.
  • Responsible for the enterprise-level engineering of over 120 servers running Windows 2012 and Windows 10 desktops.
  • Writes scripts to automate complex administration procedures using VBScript and PowerShell.
  • Utilizes enterprise management software tools such as Microsoft System Management Server and Windows Server Update Services.
  • Maintains VMware ESX servers using VirtualCenter and VMotion.
  • Administers high-availability server clusters running Veritas Storage Foundation HA and Microsoft Clustering.
  • Manages complex DNS infrastructure using Windows DHCP servers.
  • Maintains large Windows terminal server farms supporting over 300+ users.
  • Implements and modifies complex Active Directory Group Policy Objects.
  • Updates and tracks customer issues using the Service Now and IBM Clearquest systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Windows Admin Experience (Server 2012 – Server 2019, Win Active Directory).
  • Scripting Experience (Batch, PowerShell).
  • Understanding of LAN and WAN infrastructure.
  • Very Good MS Office Suite Skills.
  • Very Good interpersonal, writing, and communication skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • IC domain knowledge.
  • Security + certification (or like) or ability/willingness to obtain.

Desired Qualifications

  • AWS Cloud experience.
  • GIMS, NGA and Intelligence Community domain expertise.
  • Agile development experience using Version 1.
  • Window administration in AWS environment.
  • Microsoft SQL server, IIS, SMS/SCCM Experience.
  • Server security compliance Experience (IAVM, GoldDisk, Hardening).
  • Provision and manage VMWARE servers using Virtual Center.
  • Microsoft SQL server, IIS, SMS/SCCM Experience.
