OVERVIEW
Seeking a talented Cloud Architect passionate about technology and working with the customers and a large team to develop solutions for our mission-critical customer in Chantilly, VA. The customer is implementing a cloud-based solution for a Data Lake and Content Warehouse consisting of numerous datasets. The ideal candidate appreciates partnering with our customer and a group of engineers to create innovative engineering solutions for meeting this challenge.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Interface with the customer to gather service and storage requirements and advise the client on recommended solutions
- Provide solution engineering, tradeoff analysis and feasibility assessments for proposed approaches
- Formulate and design the appropriate architectural footprint across various multiple environments (development, integration, production)
- Create failover and disaster recovery solutions, automation procedures and cost benefit analysis of the environments
- Participate in planning meetings to define and set agile development team priorities and commitments
- Assist in the development of deployment strategies for a Big Data service hosting environment
- Lead a team of cloud developers and engineers to implement the architectural solutions
- Document requirements and create architectural artifacts
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as an engineer or architect supporting Government stakeholders with cloud-based solutions (AWS, Microsoft or Google)
- Experience with database modernization or Big Data programs
- Experience with cloud data migration projects
- Experience with cloud microservices and serverless computing
- Experience with cloud script and programming
- Experience with cloud automation tools (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)
- Experience with scripting (bash, python, or perl)
- Experience with linux system administration
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with cloud security requirements, assessment and authorization
- Experience with automation and code repository tools (e.g. Git)
- Experience with agile planning processes
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes
- Cloud certifications
